Mark grew up listening to his parents’ record collection consisting of a mixture of big band music like Glen Miller and Tommy Dorsey, crooners like Mel Torme and Johnny Mathis and country stars such as George Jones and Marty Robbins. His mother was a singer in her youth and was always singing old jazz standards around the house. This early exposure fostered a broad-minded appreciation for multiple musical genres. His first performance was at a school talent show when he was six and he has always loved to sing. Until the age of thirteen he shared a bedroom with one of his two older brothers and they would stay awake late into the night listening to rock and roll from distant stations as far away as Texas on a small transistor radio. Growing up in the era of the British Invasion and Classic Rock his heart is in Rock and Roll but he enjoys everything from Jazz, R&B, Soul, and Motown to Folk, Country, Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, and a renewed interest in the Blues in recent years. Mark is constantly exploring the musical universe and believes good music still exists in many forms.
The environment Ernani has grown up was very eclectic in terms of music - pretty much the influences were around what was playing on the radio in Brazil back in the late 80’s and early 90’s, with a mix of North American, British and Brazilian influences. He learned early how much fun it was to crank the volume up whenever some cool songs would randomly play, paying attention to the role of each instrument and developing a particular interest to what the bass was doing. Favourites back then were Dire Straits, Van Halen, Queen and Pearl Jam. Later began admiring the complexity of Flea’s bass lines while enjoying the Red Hot Chilli Peppers albums. Ernani is always looking to learn more and enjoy his time while playing with SUBSOLO, and his equipment is primarily a Jazz Bass and an GK 800RB bass amp head.
Scott was exposed to many artists growing up from older siblings and friends, thus influences varied widely. A love of music and drums turned into a desire to learn more and play in all sorts of bands including wedding / dance bands, Military marching band drum corps, Competition Pipe band drum corps, community concert and brass bands (drums, timpani, misc percussion), rock bands, and Dance Orchestra. Scott studied formally in both drum kit and rudimental drumming and continues to expand knowledge. Musical tastes are very wide and open save for rap and metal. Equipment includes a Roland V-drums kit, a Pearl Masters MCX kit, a Gretsch Renown 57 Bop Kit, Sabian and Zildjian cymbals and various percussion extras.
The love for music began at a very young age for Fausto, back when albums weren’t as readily available as they are today. He devoted much of his free time to immersing himself in various bands, influenced by an eclectic group of friends spanning from 60’s Rock and Roll to progressive rock and heavy metal. It didn’t take him long to realize that playing those songs would be even more enjoyable than just listening to them. Starting with a classical guitar, he quickly transitioned to electric. After several years of learning, he began playing with various bands, predominantly focusing on classic rock tunes.
